Dr. Wright’s Tip
With today’s busy lifestyles, women are having less time to get ready in the morning. Sometimes we need more than two hands to get ready in a short period of time. To help out, I would like to give you a few tips to help your morning rush be less stressful!
1- Concealer/foundation: applying concealer to dark circles- as you apply it you can apply foundation with the other hand.
2- Blush: don’t forget to smile when applying. Do the higher cheek if seeking a contour look.
3- Shadow: a solid neutral eyeshadow (simplicity)
4- Curling lashes/ mascara: curl your lashes before mascara and always make sure you apply two coats of mascara if wanting a fuller effect.
5- Don’t forget your sunscreen: it’s a must even though you might be in a rush, you still have to take care of your skin.
6- Lipstick/lip gloss; last but not least apply lip stick/gloss just like adding the cherry to your Sunday.
Try our line of Prévia COSMETICS for a great cosmetic line. We carry concealers, foundations, lipsticks, mascaras and blushes in this line.

Many people suffer from an uneven complexion due to brown spots on their face. With Texas comes sun, with sun comes sun damage and pigmentation. There are many Over- the-Counter treatments that claim to lighten, but the key secret is to blend several ingredients together – starting with Hydroquinone!
Dr. Wright’s Tip
Hydroquinone is a chemical skin bleach to slow the production of melanin which causes brown spots. While this helps it is not enough to slough off the skin that has been pigmented, so at SKIN MD and Beyond, we offer a very special compounded treatment called DHR (Destroy Hyperpigmentation Rapidly). I have blended a strong medical- grade hydroquinone with a 1% Retin A (causing the skin to peel slightly to remove surface pigment) and a soothing steroid cream to reduce any inflammation. (You should expect about 2-3 days of slight redness and flaking after the treatment) So what are you waiting for? – call today and get started on a more youthful pigment free complexion!

The eyes are the most prominent part of our face and what most people often notice first. So how can we make our eyes appear bigger than usual? Read on …. To learn about Dr. Wright’s tips!
Dr. Wright’s Tip
There are a few makeup tips and tricks to make our eyes pop-
First, use a good mascara specifically one that makes the lashes look thick and lush. Don’t forget to curl lashes first and a great way to make the curl last longer is to heat up your eyelash curler first and then curl your lashes. Don’t forget to let the eyelash curler cool off a little before you curl your eyelashes! Put mascara on both the upper and lower eyelashes as this will make the eyes appear bigger. Next, apply eyeliner with just a light application above the eyelid. When it comes to your eyeshadow, if you have small eyes then use only light colored eyeshadow and no more than two shades. Eyes will appear smaller if you apply too many shadows because they will look too “busy”. If you really want to make the eyes pop-apply false eyelashes!
Both DHA and EPA haven been shown to have many great health benefits when added into a person’s diet on a regular basis. Our bodies will naturally produced some DHA, but the amounts are really too small and not regular enough.
Dr. Wright’s Tip
Essential fatty acids are molecules that cannot be created by the human body but are vital for normal metabolism. One of the families of fatty acids is your omega-3 fatty acids. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that is essential for the proper functioning or our brains as adults. Low levels have even been associated with depression and Alzheimer’s disease. EPA is also an omega-3 fatty acid which has been shown to be beneficial in coronary heart disease, high blood pressure and inflammatory disorders which include rheumatoid arthritis. Studies have shown that populations that tend to have high marine diets have a lower incidence of cancer. Fish oil is also important for optimal joint function. Here at SKIN MD and Beyond we sell EPA/DHA soft gel capsules.
Do you have migraine headaches? Botox has been approved by the FDA to treat chronic migraines.
Dr. Wright’s Tip
First, let’s cover what a migraine is. Migraines are not your typical headache. They are usually an intense, throbbing pain. When a person is suffering from one, they may experience nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. Usually if the person has had one before they can feel one beginning to come on. Interesting fact: Women are nearly 3 times more likely to have migraines than men (do men cause us to have them-think about it!). Although the exact mechanism of how Botox helps against migraines is not known– there have been many safety studies to recommend its FDA use for treatment. It can also be used to prevent migraines. If you have additional questions, feel free to call us here at the clinic- 972-608-0808.
Puffy eyes can make people look tired and older. Since the skin around the eyes is very delicate, there are many factors that cause the eyes to puff up. Puffiness can be caused by fluid retention, hormone levels fluctuating, dehydration, medication, allergies, not getting enough rest and from crying too much. Some simple ways to help reduce the puffiness is by reducing salt intake in your diet, getting more rest, having some bananas and raisins, drinking cranberry juice, and exercising regularly. Then there is Dr. Wright’s secret “quick tip” for fluid-retention, “had too much salt” wake-up in the morning, puffy eyes – Preparation H!
Dr. Wright’s Tip
There are many questions and concerns about using Preparation H around the eyes. Preparation H is a hemorrhoid cream. It helps to constrict blood vessels, which helps to keep the blood away from the hemorrhoids, so it can shrink. When you use this cream under your eyes, it has the same effect, except it will shrink the capillaries and temporarily reduce puffy eyes and dark circles. Despite initial relief from puffiness, it can have side effects which include burning and irritation under the eyes, headaches, and after over a period of time it can make the blood vessels more dilated than normal.
Although Preparation H may be a quick solution – it is not designed for the delicate skin around the eyes and therefore be very cautious when using it. My more reliable recommendation which would actually be safer for your eyes, is to try my REVIVAL EYES. This eye serum is my unique creation that is created to help with the symptoms of puffiness, sagging skin, dark circles, and wrinkles. REVIVAL EYES is strictly a serum used for treating the skin around the eyes and is not a moisturizer. If you would also like to have a moisturizer to go along with REVIVAL EYES, you can use EYE QUENCH in conjunction to keep the skin around your eyes well hydrated. Both of these products are available to purchase at Skin M.D. and Beyond. Additionally, you can purchase these products at www. skinmdandbeyond.com.
In Texas as well as many other hot and dry climates, the majority of people suffer from dehydrated, stressed skin. Even people with oily skin can be dehydrated. Unfortunately, no matter how much water we drink it never reaches the outer layers of our skin. So quenching your skin with a topical hydrator is the next best solution!
Dr. Wright’s Tip
As we move into Springtime and the weather starts to get warmer, we need a little boost. I always use a product that I specially formulated to act like water on my skin! Drinking water is very important as it helps to flush the body of toxins but using it alone will not hydrate sufficiently. I use my REHYDRATION COMPLEX with VITAMIN C every morning and night to put back into my skin what it needs. It is our #1 Seller in my skincare line! It is lightweight and fast absorbing. It combines a powerful blend of Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera. It works well under make-up and is ideal for those in humid climates, oily skin or complexions that show afternoon shine.
