Starting tomorrow April 19th and going thru to the 22nd, it is time again for Main Street 2012! It is located on Main Street in downtown Forth Worth between the historic Tarrant County Courthouse and the Forth Worth Convention Center. It is the SouthWest’s largest, four-day visual arts and entertainment festival. Come enjoy four days of fine art, food, fun and festivities! There is no charge to attend the festival; however, food and beverage coupons must be purchased at coupon booths located at the festival. There are all kinds of activities going on including: the Young People’s Art Fair, free arts and crafts for the kids, live continuous performing arts entertainment, tasty delicacies and quality fine art and contemporary craft from 200 fine artists that is available for purchase.
Cotes du Coeur is a premier fine wine auction and celebrity chef dinner held annually in Dallas. The event benefits the American Heart Association (AHA). Cotes du Coeur is a series of events leading up to an annual black-tie fine wine auction and celebrity chef dinner. It is sponsored by the Dallas Division of the AHA; the spring gala is the largest of its kind in the Southwest and is the number one gala in the nation for the American Heart Association. At the gala, attendees experience multi-course fine dining created around a specific wine varietal for each dish. There is also an auction of more than 2,000 wines. This year’s big event benefitting the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center will be on March 31st. This is the Center’s largest fundraiser of the year. With the recent economic struggles, the Center needs your help more than ever. The success of the event is critical to their ability to continue providing services to the abused and neglected children of Collin County. This year the Gala will be held at the Dallas Hilton Anatole. Entertainment will be the Doobie Brothers and the emcee will be Shelly Slater of WFAA. It is a formal/black tie affair. This Friday and Saturday- March 30thand 31st, is the 8th annual “Savor Dallas”. This event celebrates wine, food, spirits and the arts. It was developed to promote Downtown Dallas and the Dallas Arts District. Savor Dallasis the largest (and most delicious) wine and food event in Texas. Saint Patrick’s Day, is an annual feast day which celebrates the life of the great apostle of Ireland. It has become a day of celebration for both Catholics and non-Catholics. The first year St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated in America was in 1737 in Boston, Massachusetts. The first official St. Patrick’s Day parade was held in New York City in 1766. As the saying goes, on this day “everybody is Irish! Tomorrow, March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day. St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect time to show your true Irish (even if you are not Irish). There are always plenty of things to do around the Dallas area to celebrate this event. There are usually several St. Patrick’s Day Parades, Irish Festivals and of course Green Beer!
